Extended Environment
The outdoor environment is an integral part of life at Weaverham Pre School. Children explore the outdoors every day, in sun, snow or rain, and this is at the heart of everything we do. All of the children have access to a waterproof coat and a waterproof suite provided by Pre-School.
Woodland Area
We have access to a large woodland area where children take part in a huge variety of activities, such as building dens, making leaf pictures, creating fantasy worlds, cooking in mud kitchens, and caring for the environment, as well as having plenty of opportunity for free exploration and playing on the various swings we have situated about the area. This is also where our forest school sessions take place.
Garden and the playground
We also have our own garden area accessible directly from both the Caterpillar and Butterfly rooms. In the garden we have a fruit and vegetable patch, a digging space, sand pit, mud kitchens, water station, reading and mark making area, a bike track and an outdoor classroom. We are also fortunate to have access to Weaverham Academy’s large playground which is perfect for riding bikes
